Who's in charge in post-coup Mali?

Mali's newly designated president, Dioncounda Traoré, is preparing for his swearing-in ceremony later today. But some observers are still wandering if Traoré, Mali's parliamentary speaker, is truly in charge. The former junta leader, Captain Ampadou Sanogo, says he wants to play a role in the transition from military to civilian rule. Bruce Whitehouse, an anthropologist who lives in Mali, says the army has been loyal to the junta so far.
