Military chiefs from West African countries are set to meet later today in the Nigerian capital Abuja to discuss the situation in Mali and Guinea Bissau, following military coups earlier this year. This after West African mediators failed to reach an agreement in Bamako with Mali's ex-junta over who will be named President when the transitional period expires on the 22 May. RFI's Paul Nolan spoke to Paul Melly, a West Africa expert about whether there is still any hope of finding a solution around the negotiating table.
