How Mauritania copes with climate change

Thunderstorms have begun in Nouakchott, marking the start of the Mauritanian capital's short rainy season. It's a worrying time for residents, given that Nouakchott is close to the Atlantic Ocean and it's below sea-level. Added to that is the effects of climate change. In the past three years flooding has become commonplace. Alex Duval Smith reports on how the city is coping.
