Bermuda and Jersey removed from French tax-haven blacklist
French authorities have officially removed Bermuda and the British dependency Jersey from its list of uncooperative tax havens after they satisfied France’s request for financial information
The move was first announced in December and made official in a French finance ministry journal on Sunday.
Bermuda and Jersey were added to the blacklist in August and threatened with penalty taxes on all capital flowing to and from France as part of French moves to crack down on tax evasion.
Eight countries and territories remain on the list: the British Virgin Islands, Brunei, Montserrat, Botswana, Guatemala, Nauru, Marshall Islands and Niue.
