Coffee that's been digested and then excreted by Asian civet cats has become among the world's most sought-after drinks in recent years. The process has been slammed by animal-rights campaigners because of the increasing use of intensive farming methods where civets are kept in cages and force-fed the coffee berries. Now elephants are being used to help improve the taste of coffee, according to much higher welfare standards.
