East Timor sues Autralia over an oil and gas treaty

Australia has been brought to the International Court of Justice in The Hague, in The Netherlands by its neighbour, East Timor after accusing it of raiding the offices of a lawyer representing the country in a dispute over an oil and gas treaty. East Timor described Australia's actions as unprecedented, improper and inexplicable conduct. At the same time, in the same building, the Permanent Court of Arbitration, is hearing East Timor's case where it's trying to have the 2006 oil and gas treaty with Australia annulled. John Miller, a national coordinator of the East Timor and Indonesia Action Network, comments.
