This week’s quiz: At the end of June, RFI English journalist Tony Cross was in Turkey to report on the presidential and legislative elections. I’m sure you followed his excellent reporting, so on 30 June I asked you to answer these three questions: 1) who won the presidency of Turkey, 2) with what percentage of the votes did he win, and 3) the name of the party or parties which won a majority of seats in the legislature.

The answers are: Incumbent president Recep Tayyip Erdogan won 52.5 % of  the vote, compared to 31.5 % for his nearest rival, Muharram Ince of the People's National Party.

A coalition between Erdogan’s Justice and Development Party and the Nationalist Movement Party won 342 out of 600 seats in the Parliament, giving it the majority.

The winners are: Sadika Khatun, a member of the RFI International DX Radio Listeners Club in Murshidabad, India; RFI Listeners Club members Rachid Dahmani from M'sila, Algeria; John James B from Cross River State, Nigeria and Dr DW Nabi from Middlesex in the UK. Rounding out the list of lucky winners this week is Mohamad Rasheduzzaman from Rangpur, Bangladesh.

Congratulations winners!

Here’s the music you heard on this week’s program:Andy Razaf: “Are You in the Mood?” performed by Stéphane Grappelli & le Hot Club de France; Tony Morena: “L'Indifférence”, performed by the Cafe Accordion Orchestra; Rimsky-Korsakov: “The Flight of the Bumblebee”, and Raimonds Pauls: “A Million Roses”, performed by Dominique Moisan.
