This week’s quiz: On 23 November, I asked you a question about the Yellow Vests. On 16 November the Yellow Vests marked the first anniversary of their populist movement. The demonstrations that day once again spiraled out of control and into violence and destruction of public property, especially here in Paris. And of course, RFI English reporters were out on the streets to report on it for you.
Rosie Collyer interviewed one of the protest leaders in her article “A year in the life of Yellow Vest protest leader Priscillia Ludosky”. In that interview, Ludosky told Rosie about a new group she had helped form in order to ensure local voices are heard. I asked you to tell me the name of that group.
The answer is: People’s Lobby.
The winners are: Ferhat Bezazel, the president of the RFI Butterflies Club Ain Kechera in West Skikda, Algeria; Paresh Hazarika from the United RFI Listeners Club in Assam, India; Ekbal Hossain from the International RFI DX Radio Listeners Club in West Bengal, India, and Abdol Bari and Dewan Sabo, both from Naogaon, Bangladesh.
Here’s the music you heard on this week’s program: The “finale-presto” from Haydn’s Piano trio no 43, performed by the Wanderer Trio; “The Flight of the Bumblebee” by Nicolai Rimsky-Korsakov, and “Una vaca y una foca” by Yusa.
Do you have a musical request? Send it to firstname.lastname@example.org
