The key to change for young offenders

Figures show that French prisons are increasingly overcrowded, with rising numbers of suicides, and a very high rate of second offenders. Pierre Botton, who spent 20 months in prison for embezzlement, has been given government support to build an experimental prison for young, first-time offenders who have committed non-violent crimes. It offers them a chance to get their lives back on track.
