Issued on: Modified:
Madeleines are one of France's best-loved cakes, awaking fond memories in author Marcel Proust and millions of other sweet-toothed French citizens. New investors wanted to relocate to Algeria or Bulgaria but Jeannette's workers occupied the factory in January and are still fighting to keep production in Normandy. A commercial court in Caen will decide on their fate today.
