Syrians take refuge in Lebanon's Shatila camp
Issued on: Modified:
Syria's civil war has caused over three million Syrians to flee the country, with over one million of them now living in Lebanon. While the majority of refugees are found in open air camps in the Bekaa valley, increasing numbers can be found in camps built for Palestinians who fled into Lebanon in 1948. The result is a new social dynamic that's putting strain on an already cramped set-up.
