| Replying to "thanks" | Je vous en prie. A votre service. |
| Asking questions | |
| By using normal word order, but raise your voice at the end of the phrase | Vous pouvez épeler ? Vous avez un stylo ? |
| By reversing the subject and the verb | Danielle, pouvez-vous s.v.p. réserver une table... ? Pouvez-vous épeler ? |
| By adding "est-ce que" | Est-ce que vous pouvez épeler ? Est-ce que vous avez un stylo ? |
| By using "question words" | Une table pour quand ? Combien de couverts ? C'est à quel nom ? |
