South Africa's President Jacob Zuma has arrived in Algeria on the first stop of a tour that will take him to Nigeria and Chad. Zuma and his Algerian counterpart Abdelaziz Bouteflika will discuss cooperation between their two countries and the delicate security situation in the Sahel and Mali. Algeria is a South African trade partner and ally as well as an important champion of "African values". Zuma's visit comes as he faces growing criticism at home for his foreign policy, South African journalist Leslie Louw explains.
