South Sudan rebuilds education system

Nearly three years ago South Sudan, the world’s youngest nation, was born. With 84 per cent of the population illiterate, one of its main priorities has been to rebuild its education system. In 2001 Yei Teacher Training College was opened. Despite the ongoing crisis in the country, the college has seen more female than male students enrolled this year.
