France is looking for Thaksin... who was seen in Paris
Issued on: Modified:
France's Foreign Ministry is currently searching for Thaksin Shinawatra, millionaire leader of the anti-Thai government "red shirts", after he was spotted in a luxury shop in the tony Champs Elysées area of Paris. The Quai d'Orsay is looking for the former Thai prime minister in order to make sure he does not make any public statements on French soil.
Thaksin has not yet been found. He has been invited to speak with French journalists at a dinner-debate on 31 May at the Center of Political and Foreign Affairs.
Meanwhile, Thai internet sites are calling for people to boycott French products sold in Thailand.
