India's "culture wars" have risen to new levels as actors, filmmakers and writers join protests against the right-wing Hindu government's inaction against religious intolerance and violence. Many Indian writers, artists and scientists have returned awards to them by the government. However, the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party-led government has dismissed the protests as "manufactured rebellion" and "politically" motivated, as our correspondent Murali Krishnan reports in the third of a four part series.
