Italy's Dominik Paris took Saturday's men's World Cup downhill at Kvitfell as his compatriot Peter Fill missed the chance to cement his lead in the downhill standings.

Paris came out on top, two tenths of a second ahead of France's Valentin Giraud-Moine, with the podium completed by American Steven Nyman.

Fill came in tenth, leaving Norway's Aksel Lund Svindal, whose season has ended early with injury, four points clear at the top of the downhill standings.

Aside from Fill, last year's Kvitfell winner Hannes Reichelt of Austria was also disappointing in 32nd, whilst another local hope, Kjetil Jansrud, had to be content with fifth.

The downhill season concludes at Saint Moritz on Wednesday.
