A strong blast went off Thursday near a bus terminal in Turkey's Kurdish-majority city of Diyarbakir in the southeast of the country, wounding at least seven people, hospital sources and an AFP correspondent said.

Three of the injured in Diyarbakir were members of Turkish security forces, the sources added.

Turkey's security forces are engaged in an operation against Kurdish rebels from the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) in the region.
