Factfile on Atletico Madrid and Barcelona ahead of the Champions League quarter-final second leg between the clubs at the Vicente Calderon on Wednesday:

First leg

Tuesday, April 5

At Barcelona

Barcelona (ESP) 2 (Suarez 63, 74) Atletico Madrid (ESP) 1 (Torres 25)

Form:

Defending champions Barcelona come into the match holding the advantage after Luis Suarez's first-leg double made Atletico Madrid pay for Fernando Torres' needless red card. Torres' early away goal keeps the Spanish capital city side in the tie, although they have now lost the last seven meetings between these teams. But Barca have hit a rut in the road to a second consecutive treble, after back-to-back defeats in La Liga blew the Spanish title race wide open. The 1-0 loss at Real Sociedad at the weekend leaves Luis Enrique's men just three points clear of Atletico at the top of the table, with Real Madrid just a point further adrift in third.

Atletico are now in position to potentially totally derail Barcelona's season, as they could follow a Champions League victory by pipping the champions to the domestic title. Diego Simeone's side have been in excellent form in recent weeks, with six wins in their last seven La Liga outings. The impressive 3-1 victory at Espanyol on Saturday takes Atletico's goal tally for their last six league games to 18.
