Britain's membership of the EU brings benefits to both parties, the ECB's chief said Thursday, adding that any decision by the UK to quit the bloc would have only a "limited" impact on the eurozone's economic recovery.

"Let me say unequivocally that we view the participation of the UK to the European Union as as mutually beneficial and we will continue to say so in the coming weeks," Mario Draghi told a news conference.

Would a Brexit "endanger the economic recovery of the euro area? The assessment of our staff is that the risk of this happening is limited," he added.
