Play at Roland Garros was set to get underway Tuesday after a brief morning delay which had followed Monday's complete washout, the first since 2000.
World number one Novak Djokovic was first up on Court Philippe Chatrier against Roberto Bautista Agut in a last-16 clash.
That was to be followed by women's champion Serena Williams against Elina Svitolina while Andy Murray, the second seed, was due to play his quarter-final against Richard Gasquet.
Agnieszka Radwanska was due to complete her last-16 match against Tsvetana Pironkova on Suzanne Lenglen where she was leading 6-2, 3-0 after Sunday's suspension.
On Court 1, Simona Halep was leading Samantha Stosur 5-3.
