"Vive la musique", vive the Philharmonie de Paris

Paris's new international music centre, the Philharmonie de Paris, was inaugurated by French president François Hollande on Wednesday. Its first concerts were dedicated to the victims of the recent terror attacks in Paris. The venue boasts one of the world’s finest concert halls and aims to bring all kinds of music, but classical in particular, to a much wider audience than is currently the case. Built on the eastern edge of the capital, close to the gritty banlieues, it marks the first stone in the construction of “Grand Paris”.
