French left celebrates difference at Fête de l’Humanité
The French left is battered and divided. President François Hollande is being challenged on both the right and left of his Socialist party, and on the far left new and old movements are threatening to further splinter an already disenchanted electorate in the run up to the presidential elections next May. A host of leftist parties and their supporters gathered at the annual Fête de l'Huma over the weekend. And one of the key questions was whether they can come together and present a unified front. As RFI's Alison Hird reports, there's work to be done.
