Enough is enough! Mexican women fed up with inaction over violence
Eighty thousand women marched through Mexico City on Sunday, to protest against femicides, and a rising tide of violent crime, which they insist is receiving little or no attention from the police and the courts.
During the past five years the killings of women have surged one hundred and thirty percent, yet very few of the perpetrators are ever brought to justice.
Sunday's protest action and the unprecedented general strike on Monday come after the grisly murders of a twenty five year old woman and the rape and murder of a seven year old girl.
