During the past five years the killings of women have surged one hundred and thirty percent, yet very few of the perpetrators are ever brought to justice.

Sunday's protest action and the unprecedented general strike on Monday come after the grisly murders of a twenty five year old woman and the rape and murder of a seven year old girl.

As James Blears reports, the women of Mexico used the occasion and the opportunity of International Women`s Day to highlight their plight, which has become a full blown crisis.
