One Palestinian was killed and another wounded during an Israeli raid on Gaza on Sunday. The attack came just hours after militants had declared a ceasefire.
Witnesses named the Palestinian killed as Ahmed Jarghun, a militant with the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine. The injured man was also a member of the group.
Violence near the southern border city of Rafah began on Saturday and has killed 10 Palestinians.
An Israeli man also died after he was hit by shrapnel from a rocket that landed in Ashdod, around 30-kilometres from Gaza.
Egyptian intelligence officials had brokered a ceasefire that went into effect early Sunday morning.
Several hours later, a senior Jihad official confirmed that the movement was observing the ceasefire, but would retaliate if Israel conducted further strikes.
