[Slideshow] Happy Saint Patrick's Day, from Paris!

Saint Patrick's Day celebrated in Paris RFI/Jan van der Made

Paris hosted its second St. Patrick’s Day Parade on March 17. Irish people, both home and abroad commemorate the death of this fifth century saint who is said to have brought Christianity to the island. Sunday's Parade, organised by the Irish in France Association, took place around the Pantheon mausoleum. The event took place a day after the centre of Paris was occupied by thousands of yellow vests and 'black block' groups who vandalised shops on the Champs Elysees avenue. But this Irish 'green vest' parade was all about merrymaking and good cheer.
