In defeating sister Venus, Serena Williams surpassed Steffi Graf's achievement of 22 open era grand slam titles, also moving one away from the all-time record held by Margaret Court. And Roger Federer saw off the challenge of Rafael Nadal in Melbourne to land his eighteenth major. Serena Williams and Federer are both 35-years-old.
